Land Acquisitions Program

croresboatsThe Watershed Land Acquisition Program allows New York City to acquire fee title to, or conservation easements on, water quality sensitive, undeveloped land from willing sellers.

Fair market value will be paid for all property and New York City will continue to pay property taxes. Property will not be acquired by eminent domain.

The Land Acquisition Program also includes a community review process for all property under consideration for acquisition. Westchester County’s Open Space Policy relates to land acquisition priorities.
